5 THINGS YOU’VE JUST GOTTA DO – SYDNEY EDITION

There are many cities in the world, some of which are bad, some of which are good, some of which are fantastic, and some of which are completely incredible. Sydney, on the other hand. Imagine the perfect combination of cosmopolitan cool, buzzing nightlife, and gastronomic awesomeness, with a handful of the world's best beaches thrown in for good measure. Sydney is the name.

If you've been to the city, you'll understand what we mean. If you haven't, our advice is to save your money, hibernate for the next six months, and then hop on the next available flight to Sydney. Sydney has something for everyone, from gorgeous farmers markets and stunning coastal walks to unique pop-up restaurants and all-night sweaty warehouse raves. Here are five things you must do:

Bondi Beach is a great place to catch a wave.

For good reason, Bondi Beach is arguably Australia's most famous beach. It is located 7 kilometers east of Sydney CBD and has fine white sand that stretches for nearly one kilometer around the clear turquoise sea. Surfers and families tend to congregate at the beach's southern end, while north Bondi and the grassy knoll are strictly reserved for the hordes of cool kids and beach bums. Grab a board from one of the surf shops opposite the beach, or simply relax and watch the pros (and Bondi Rescue surf lifesavers) at work.

Drink at the Opera Bar
The Opera Bar, located on the lower concourse level of the Sydney Opera House, has the most enviable location in Sydney and offers the most SPECTACULAR views of the Harbour Bridge. Ordering a cool glass of prosecco and some tasty food and then chilling out and relaxing while watching the ferries pass through the harbour is a real pinch yourself moment. To truly appreciate the amazing colors of the bridge and harbour, visit at dusk.

Ascend the Sydney Harbour Bridge.
If you want to have the ultimate Sydney experience, you must climb the Sydney Harbour Bridge. Don an attractive blue shell suit, buckle up, and begin your ascent on one of Sydney's most iconic landmarks - once at the top, you'll be rewarded with the city's best view. Choose a sunrise or sunset climb and watch the sun rise or set over the city to make it even more memorable.

Travel to Manly by ferry.
Another iconic experience that allows you to see Sydney from a new perspective - flying! Take the ferry from Circular Quay and enjoy the 7 mile 30 minute trip taking in all of Sydney's best (keep an eye out for whales during migration season, June to November). There's plenty to do in Manly, such as relaxing on the beach, renting a surfboard, taking a winery tour, or simply eating fish and chips.

Consume Your Heart's Desire
Sydney is a foodie's paradise, with incredible options for breakfast, lunch, dinner, elevenses, afternoon tea...pretty much any eating occasion you can think of. Start your day with a full Aussie breakfast or scrambled egg on sourdough at Bills in Darlinghurst. Make a cheeky but fully indulgent pit stop at Messina's in Surry Hills (no arguments, the best ice cream in Sydney, possibly the world - big words, we know) before working it all off with a leisurely stroll through Centennial Park. Take the bus to Bondi, go for a swim or surf, and then stop by Moo Burger (no description necessary). Head home, get dressed up, and go out to Tapa Vino in The Rocks for dinner - tasty tapas and delectable wine are guaranteed. Go home and groan on your bed. Satisfaction levels are at 100%.
