Anyone interested in history or architecture should visit the San Agustin Church in Manila. This Roman Catholic Baroque-style church is a UNESCO World Heritage site located within the historic Walled City of Intramuros.
The church was built by the Spaniards in the 16th century and has survived a major earthquake in 1863 as well as the ravages of World War II. You can't miss it if you're in Intramuros, but we recommend booking a tour through your hotel.

San Agustin Church Manila - one of the highlights of 17 Best Things to Do in Manila
What else is there to do at San Augustin Church?
The San Agustin Church also has an impressive museum that will show you how deeply the Catholic faith runs throughout this country. There is a fee for admission, but it is well worth it. The galleries of the museum display the works of Augustinian monks in the Philippines and are divided into several categories, including love of nature, science, and others. Many of the artifacts, unsurprisingly, have a religious theme.
The stunning frescoes, the Trompe-l'oeil ceiling, paintings, statues, and various church ornaments can all be appreciated while listening to pipe organ music. If you intend to visit the San Agustin Church, you should be aware that it is a popular wedding venue. While witnessing a Filipino wedding is fascinating, access to the church is restricted during the ceremony.
